Choc Cherry Cake Recipe. Cream butter with sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture to butter mixture; mix until just combined.
Place one cake layer, flat side down, on serving plate. For frosting, stir over low heat, the margarine and cocoa until almost boiling. Sift the flour together with the cocoa powder, and baking powder into a large bowl.
To Make Frosting: Combine sugar, butter or margarine, and milk.
Mix in eggs and almond extract; beat well.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and the hot coffee. Prepare cake layers according to pkg directions. Stir in one can of pie filling until blended.
