Green means damage dealt is doubled (Super Effective Against) If a Pokémon has two types, the strengths and weaknesses of both types will be used in calculating damage dealt and received. Types determine how much damage certain pokemon can dish out and take against other pokemon. The primary effectiveness is the same.
The Fighting type could be considered a physical counterpart to the Psychic type: The highest average stat among all Fighting types is Attack, while for Psychic types it is Special.
The latest one, Fairy type was introduced in Generation VI (Pokémon X & Y) to balance the Dragon and Dark types.

Mewtwo is a Psychic type, but with Focus Blast (a fighting move) it can easily take down Blissey and Snorlax because they are weak to fighting moves.
